Combine
Combine#
/combine merges two of your items into one better item. It works with pickaxes, fishing rods and relics: upgrade a pickaxe or rod to a higher crate tier without losing its enchants and progress, move artifact progress between two pickaxes of the same tier, or join two different relics into one Combined Relic.
How it works Type /combine, click two items in your inventory to place them, check the result in the middle of the menu, then click the anvil.
Nothing is taken from you until you click the anvil. The item in the middle is exactly what you will get: it is worked out by the same code that does the combine.
The command: /combine, also /merge and /reliccombine.
What can I combine?#
| You place | What happens | You keep | Used up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two pickaxes from different crate tiers | Upgrade: your lower-tier pickaxe becomes the higher tier and keeps what it has | The lower-tier pickaxe | The higher-tier pickaxe |
| Two pickaxes from the same crate tier | Artifact transfer: Sell and Token progress moves from slot 2 onto slot 1 | The pickaxe in slot 1 | The pickaxe in slot 2 |
| Two fishing rods from different tiers | Upgrade: your lower-tier rod becomes the higher tier | The lower-tier rod | The higher-tier rod |
| Two different relics | Combined Relic: one relic with both bonuses | A new Combined Relic | Both relics |
Both slots must hold the same kind of item. Pets have their own combine: see Pet Combine.
Using the menu#
- Open it with
/combine. - Click an item in your inventory to place it in the first empty slot, then click a second item for the other slot.
- Look at the item in the middle: that is your result.
- Click the anvil to combine. If you see a barrier instead, hover it to see why the combine can't happen.
Good to know
- To swap an item out, click the green pane above its slot.
- Split stacks first. You can't place the exact same item in both slots.
- Closing the menu clears both slots. Your items never leave your inventory until you click the anvil.
- There is a 5 second cooldown between combines.
- If anything goes wrong partway through, the item that was going to be used up is given back and both slots clear.
Pickaxes#
Upgrading a pickaxe (different tiers)#
Place your pickaxe and a pickaxe from a higher crate tier. Your pickaxe is the one that's kept: it is upgraded to the higher tier, and the higher-tier pickaxe is used up. Neither pickaxe needs Spiral.
| What your pickaxe ends up with | |
|---|---|
| Enchants | Everything it already has, plus every enchant from the used-up pickaxe. Where both have the same enchant, the higher level wins. |
| Sell & Token Bonus | Your progress above your old tier's base, added on top of the new tier's base (see below) |
| Fortune | The highest of: your Fortune · the new tier's base Fortune plus your TransferrableFortune · the used-up pickaxe's Fortune |
| Tier perks | The new tier's perks, such as Frenzy, Rampage or Corkscrew (see Pickaxe tiers below). A higher level you already have is kept. |
| Your other artifacts | Your LuckyBlock, LuckyBlock+ and other artifacts stay exactly as they are |
| Tags | UNTRASHABLE, UNSALVAGEABLE, LuckyGold, HeartAttack and ParticleTransmutation carry over from either pickaxe |
| Name | The new tier's name. If you renamed your pickaxe, your name stays. |
| Obtained from | The new tier's crate |
Sell & Token Bonus. Every crate tier has a base Sell and Token Bonus, the amount its pickaxes start with. Anything your pickaxe has above its old tier's base is your progress, and it moves on top of the new tier's base.
Example: a Rare pickaxe (base 3%) with 20% Sell Bonus, combined with a Legendary pickaxe (base 5%): 20 − 3 = 17% progress, plus the 5% base = 22% Sell Bonus.
- At or below your old tier's base? You go straight to the new tier's base.
- Already on a tier with the same or a higher base (for example OG into UltraOG, both 15%)? Your Sell and Token stay as they are, and anything below the new base is raised to it.
- A combine never lowers a bonus you already have, and stops raising it at the Sell & Token caps below.
Fortune. Fortune you bought doesn't stack on top of a new tier's base, but Fortune your pickaxe found by itself does. Leveler, Clever, the Lucky Fortune talents and the Fortune perk all add to a dark grey TransferrableFortune line on your pickaxe, and that amount is added to the new tier's base Fortune.
Example: an OG pickaxe with 5,555 Fortune and TransferrableFortune 500, combined with an UltraOG pickaxe (base 7,500): 7,500 + 500 = 8,000 Fortune.
The used-up pickaxe's artifacts don't move over. Only your own pickaxe's Sell, Token, LuckyBlock and other artifact progress is kept; the higher-tier pickaxe only brings its tier's base. If both pickaxes have upgraded artifacts, put your artifacts on the pickaxe you're keeping. The preview always shows the real numbers before you click.
Transferring artifacts (same tier)#
Two pickaxes from the same crate tier don't upgrade. Instead, the menu moves artifact progress from one to the other:
- The pickaxe in slot 1 is kept; the pickaxe in slot 2 is used up.
- Slot 2's Sell and Token Bonus above the tier's base is added to slot 1, up to the caps below.
- Slot 2's enchants carry onto slot 1 where they're higher, the same as in an upgrade.
- The anvil shows exactly what moves, for example Click to transfer +12% Sell / +8% Token.
- If slot 2 has no progress above the base, there's nothing to transfer and the menu tells you so.
Sell & Token caps#
A combine never lowers a bonus you already have. It stops raising it here:
| Sell Bonus | Token Bonus | |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade (different tiers) | 100% + 25% per Depth level, up to 225% at Depth 5 · 1,000% at Knight or above | 100% + 10% per Depth level, up to 150% at Depth 5 |
| Transfer (same tier) | 225% · 1,000% at Knight or above | 150% · 1,000% at Knight or above |
When a pickaxe combine is blocked#
| You see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| At least one pickaxe must come from a crate | Neither pickaxe has an "Obtained from … Crate" line | Use a crate pickaxe as one of the two |
| Conflict Detected: Both Pickaxes Contain … | The same enchant is on both pickaxes | Remove it from one of them with /rce <enchant> <amount> (/mrce, /crce or /krce for Master, Champion and Knight enchants) |
| Nothing to gain | The combine wouldn't add anything to your pickaxe | Nothing: this combine would only waste a pickaxe |
| …no artifact progress above the tier's base to transfer | Same-tier pickaxes, and slot 2 is at its tier's base | Nothing to move |
| The anvil asks for a second click | The pickaxe being used up has 3 or more enchants | Click the anvil again within 10 seconds to confirm |
| You must wait … | The 5 second cooldown | Wait a moment |
Enchants that almost every pickaxe has never count as a conflict: Fortune, FortuneTeller, Momentum, Depth, Corkscrew, Frenzy, Rampage, Efficiency and Unbreaking simply keep the higher level.
Pickaxe tiers#
Combining with a crate's pickaxe turns your pickaxe into that crate's pickaxe, so the higher of your two pickaxes decides the result. Tiers run lowest to highest down each table, and the tables are in order too: every event crate ranks above UltraDank and below OG.
Crate tiers
| Crate | Your pickaxe becomes | Sell / Token base | Base Fortune |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | (can't be used to upgrade) | 1% | 10 |
| UnCommon | UnCommon Pickaxe | 2% | 50 |
| Rare | Rare Pickaxe | 3% | 75 |
| UltraRare | UltraRare Pickaxe | 4% | 100 |
| Legendary | Legendary Pickaxe | 5% | 125 |
| UltraLegendary | UltraLegendary Pickaxe | 6% | 250 |
| Pure | Pure Pickaxe | 7% | 500 |
| UltraPure | UltraPure Pickaxe | 8% | 1,000 |
| Dank | Dank Pickaxe | 9% | 1,500 |
| UltraDank | UltraDank Pickaxe | 10% | 3,500 |
Event crates. Every event pickaxe has a 15% Sell / Token base and 3,500 base Fortune, and combining with one gives you that event's top pickaxe.

Fishing rods#
Fishing rods upgrade the same way as pickaxes. Place your rod and a rod from a higher tier: your rod is kept and upgraded, and the higher-tier rod is used up. Neither rod needs Lure.
| Crate | Your rod becomes | CrateDoubler / KeyDoubler base |
|---|---|---|
| MasterOG | MasterOG FishingRod | 5% |
| Immortal | Immortal FishingRod | 15% |
| The-Dankest | The-Dankest FishingRod | 25% |
| The-2ndDankest | The-2ndDankest FishingRod | 28% |
| The-MostDankest | The-MostDankest FishingRod | 30% |
CrateDoubler & KeyDoubler. As with pickaxe Sell and Token, your progress above your rod's old base moves on top of the new tier's base. On rods the used-up rod counts too: if its own CrateDoubler or KeyDoubler is higher than the new tier's base, your progress lands on top of that value instead. Bonuses never go down and stop at 100%.
Example: a The-Dankest rod (base 25%) at 38% / 36%, combined with a The-MostDankest rod at 30% / 30%: 13 + 30 = 43% CrateDoubler and 11 + 30 = 41% KeyDoubler. If that The-MostDankest rod had been upgraded to 35% / 35%, you would get 48% / 46%.
- Enchants from both rods carry over. Where both rods have the same enchant, the higher level wins. UNTRASHABLE and UNSALVAGEABLE carry too.
- A renamed rod keeps its name; otherwise it takes the new tier's name.
- A basic rod with no crate line can be upgraded as well: it starts from 0%.
- Two rods from the same tier can't be combined, at least one rod must come from a crate, and only rods from the five crates above can be combined.
Relics#
Combine two different relics into one Combined Relic that gives you both bonuses.
- Requires Champion (C1) or higher.
- The two relics must be different types. Two relics of the same type are merged with
/relicupgradeinstead. - Each relic must be a single item (split stacks first) and must not already be combined.
- Like every relic, the Combined Relic only works while it's in your off-hand.
| Can be combined | Can't be combined |
|---|---|
| Artifact · DoubleRandomMoney · DragonEgg · ExtraFish · Frenzy · Lucky Pet Block · Lucky Pet Block+ · Magnitude · Momentum · OverDrive · PortKey · Rampage | ArmorPierce · Rebirth · StoneSkin |
Upgrading a Combined Relic. Hold the Combined Relic, keep a relic of one of its two types in your inventory, and use /relicupgrade. That half of your Combined Relic goes up, just like upgrading a single relic.
Splitting it back. Hold the Combined Relic and use /uncombine. It costs 25 Artifact Powder (taken from your inventory first, then from your powder storage) and needs one free inventory slot. Both relics come back with their upgraded percentages.
Combining two different relics also completes the Combine 2 Different Relics task in /tasks.
| Command | Aliases | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/combine | /merge, /reliccombine | Opens the Combine menu |
/relicupgrade | /relicup, /reliccomb, /combinerelic, /combinerelics, /relicscombine | Merges two relics of the same type to raise the %, or upgrades one half of a Combined Relic |
/uncombine | /uncombinerelic, /unreliccombine | Splits the Combined Relic in your hand back into two relics (25 Artifact Powder) |
Crate pickaxes and rods upgrade by themselves#
You don't always need the menu. When you open a crate that gives a pickaxe while you're carrying a pickaxe with Spiral on it, the crate upgrades that pickaxe on the spot, with the same rules as an upgrade combine, instead of giving you a second pickaxe. If the upgrade wouldn't gain anything, you get the crate's pickaxe as normal.
Fishing-rod crates (MasterOG, Immortal, The-Dankest, The-2ndDankest and The-MostDankest) do the same for a rod with Lure on it, as long as that rod is from a lower tier.
Quick answers#
Which pickaxe do I keep? The lower-tier one: it gets upgraded. With two pickaxes from the same tier, the one in slot 1 is kept.
Do I need Spiral? Not for /combine. Spiral only matters when a crate pickaxe upgrades your pickaxe automatically.
Will I lose my enchants? No. Your pickaxe keeps all of its enchants, and the used-up pickaxe's enchants are added wherever they're higher.
Will I lose my artifacts? Not the ones on the pickaxe you keep. Artifacts on the used-up pickaxe don't move over, except Sell and Token progress in a same-tier transfer.
Why does it say Nothing to gain? Combining wouldn't make your item any better. For example, your pickaxe already has more Fortune and higher artifacts than the other tier would give it.
Can I combine pets? Yes, with /petcombine. See Pet Combine.
